Interdisciplinary Learning for Professional Expertise: Advantages in Information Integration and Career Transitions
Rather than focusing on a single field, interdisciplinary learning offers an informational advantage and allows students to integrate
knowledge across related disciplines.

A total of 130 credits is required for graduation:

  • 24 credits of university-wide common courses: see NYCU’s General Regulations for Common Courses
  • 71 credits of required major courses: foundational core courses from four colleges: the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the College of Engineering, the College of Science, and the College of Biological Science and Technology.
  • 18 credits of major electives: students choose two of four specialization areas (Nanoelectronics, Nano-optoelectronics,Nanomaterials, and Nanobiotechnology) according to their interests and complete a dual specialization.
  • 15 credits of non-general-education professional electives: students may take advanced professional courses in various fields according to their interests. Courses must be in science or engineering, and only one programming-language course may be counted.
